Environmental Toxicity and Neuroendocrine-Immune Wind-Up

This informative presentation will review the concept of immune-chemical tolerance, which is an emerging field of research in immunology. Concerns about environmental toxins and their potential risk to human health are growing at a steady rate. The vast majority of substances enter the commercial market without undergoing any legally required testing. Their build-up in the body can lead to toxicant-induced loss of tolerance (TILT). Many physiological factors determine how an individual will respond to environmental toxins, regardless of the extent of exposure. This course will examine the physiological mechanisms behind this individualized response to toxins and how it can best be supported.

Topics

  • The effects of environmental toxicity on the blood-brain, lung, and intestinal barriers
  • The connection between TILT and asthma, food intolerances, chemical hypersensitivity, migraines, mood disorders, fatigue, etc
  • The role of glutathione, vitamin D, and nitric oxide in supporting immune-chemical tolerance
  • Clinical evaluations for determining a loss of immune-chemical tolerance/the development of TILT
  • A critical evaluation of chelation therapy as a treatment for TILT
  • Clinical jewels and insights
